A Third Bridge Decreases Congestion

Salem's current transportation infrastructure requires the flow of vehicular traffic to enter in and move through the downtown core of the City. The current system requires numerous delays including major bottlenecks at both the intersection of Commercial and Marion on the Marion County side as well as Glen Creek Road and Wallace Road on the Polk County side.

A third vehicular bridge located north at Pine Street can assist in relieving congestion at these bottlenecks and improve both livability and commerce for the local region. A third bridge wouldn't just make lives more enjoyable for West Salem residents and workers, it would also create a decreased level of traffic and congestion in downtown Salem and assist in promoting a more walkable and pedestrian friendly downtown shopping and dining experience.
